Real
Madrid won the Golden Boot winner of the World Cup Brazil, James Rodriguez, the
French club Monaco.
Colombian
striker of the national team who is 23 this year reached an agreement for a
six-year contract at the Bernabeu.
The
transfer fee reported to be around 71 million pounds which makes Rodriguez as
the fourth most expensive player after Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis
Suarez.
Click
Rodriguez scored six goals in the World Cup for Colombia that achieve the
quarter-finals in Brazil.
He
scored against Greece, Ivory Coast and Japan to be the winner of Group C and
two goals in the last 16 when they beat Uruguay 2-0.
One
goal against Uruguay was chosen as the best goal of the 2014 World Cup.
Before
Monaco, Rodriguez helped Porto win the Champions League Porto current three
years ago. At Monaco, he scored nine goals in 34 matches in the French Ligue 1.
Vice
President of Monaco, Vadim Vasilyev said the club had no intention of actually
sell, but Rodriguez is proud to be a part of the history of world football
transfers.
"The
time has come when the transfer is seen as a way out of the most beneficial for
all parties."
Joining
Rodriguez is just one week after Real Madrid recruits Toni Kroos from Bayern
Munich with an undisclosed value.
