Indonesia failed as a tourist destination. This failure causes, a large state in which scattered these attractions only ranks 121 countries visited by tourists. While Malaysia with limited potential tourism destination even succeeded in doing and was able to occupy the top 10 countries most visited by tourists.
As stated Suhendroyono SH MM Mpar, Chairman of Indonesian Tourism Institutions of Higher Education (Hildiktipari), on the sidelines of a national seminar on "Synchronization of Tourism Destination Development and Tourism Human Resources Toward the Era of AEC 2015" which was held Ambarrukmo Tourism College (Stipram) at Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Tuesday (10/14/2014).
"Without the hard work and earnest, the Indonesian tourism will be oversized face Era ASEAN Economic Community that will come into force next year. We're just going to be a spectator in his own country," said Suhendroyono.
Furthermore Suhendroyono said pariwiata Indonesia so far only focused on three areas namely hospitality, travel and tours, and MICE. While a tourist destination, it is still negligible.
